CLUB

On February 2 McCaskey held their annual Lancaster Wrestling Night.  Lancaster Catholic Jr. High team started off the night and then both elementary programs went head to head.  We had 13 matches and for many kids it was there first experience in a duel meet.  All matches were competitive and wins split right done the middle.  All wrestlers enjoyed their experience and many stayed to cheer on Lancaster Catholics varsity team afterwards.

We held our first annual Crusader Tournament and we would definitely have to call it a successful event.  We had all our 46 wrestlers entered along with over 200 from other programs.  We also had a great number of parents, high school wrestlers, and friends working the tables and concessions.  Other than a computer shutdown all went smooth and we also were able to make a good profit to benefit not only our program but also the High School program.  We hope we will have the same support next year and improve on what we started.  Thanks again to all those who helped.

The team traveled to Manheim Township Saturday 12/18 with 23 wrestlers wrestling in the tournament and 12 first timers wrestling in the scrimmage.  In the classification tournament we came away with 7 first places and 11 second places.  Many of our wrestlers moved up a classification and those who have not sure seemed to be ready to do so.  All in all it was a successful day with many young wrestlers showing a lot of heart.  Once we improve on our technique the sky is the limit.  The wrestlers in the scrimmage had a very good introduction in what to expect in the coming months.  Our next tournament will be our First Annual Crusader Classic to be held on January 15 at LCHS.
